MOUNTJOY IV - 2025

Call for Abstracts Now Open!

Mountjoy IV – August 10-13, 2025 - in Montreal, Canada

SEPM and CEGA are joining with the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at McGill University to host the fourth offering of the Mountjoy carbonate research conference.

The Mountjoy Carbonate Research Conferences are an initiative of the Canadian Energy Geoscience Association (CEGA) and SEPM (Society for Sedimentary Geology).  The Mountjoy conferences are a result of these two societies’ efforts to honor Eric Mountjoy who was both a tremendous geologist and an active member of both organizations.

We are tentatively planning for two days of technical sessions with both oral and poster programs.  Topical sessions include:

-    Mountjoy Legacy Session

-    Structural Geology and Fractures

-    Carbonate Diagenesis/Dolomitization

-    Carbonate Cyclicity

-    Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS)/Critical Mineral Resources (CMR)

-    Karst

-    Hydrogeology

-    Biogeochemistry of carbonates

-    Blast from the Past Session

-    Carbonate Depositional Systems
